The Executive Women’s Networking Breakfast gathered over 160 attendees at the Depot Renaissance Hotel for what many said was our best event yet. Music students from Concordia College provided the melodies while Concordia business students represented the next generation at every table.
Our guest speaker, former Victoria’s Secret executive Diane Nelson Koznick, inspired us all with her story of how important it is to take a risk in order to follow your dreams. She also underscored the role mentors play in helping us get there. Here are a few gems she relayed to us from what her mentors told her along the way:
- Sign your name to your work. Treat this business — and whatever you are given responsibility for — as if it was your own. That way, you will always make great decisions. Pride in one’s work is seen and felt by all.
- Every single day, you are either building your reputation, or disintegrating it. This is reputational capital and it’s what matters most.
- Work hard and be humble. Remember, today’s peacock is tomorrow’s feather duster!
Thank you to everyone who attended the breakfast and helped make it such a resounding success!
