For the 9th year in a row, Team Hollstadt participated in the 2011 MS-150 Bike Ride on June 10-12. With Hollstadt’s 50-percent match, the team raised more than $11,000 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Minnesota Chapter. Proceeds from the bike ride go to support programs and services to help the nearly 10,000 people living with MS in the Northland. We are especially proud of our team for raising enough money to qualify as a “top team” and to be inducted into the “Golden Gears Club.”
We would like to thank all of our team riders this year, especially our team captain, Kirk Walton, who achieved VIP status by raising more than $3,000. The seven Team Hollstadt riders included Kirk and Kate Walton, Tom Spivey, Kathy Bormann, Aimee and Steve Krebsbach, and Larry Nelson.
The team was grateful for great weather that weekend. Everyone spent Friday night in Duluth and then headed out at dawn for the 150-mile weekend. After 75 miles, they all arrived safely at our Hinckley hospitality tent and were pampered with great food and beverages by our tent captains Rachel and Denny Hollstadt, Fil and Roy Zillmer, and Michele and Nicole Nordeen. On Sunday, everyone completed the last 75 miles to the finish line in White Bear Lake.
Thanks again to everyone who supported and contributed to Team Hollstadt!
