Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Must have banking industry experience OR CPA with a strong accounting background
  • Must have a balance of strategic vision and hands-on work.
  • Someone who can dive into daily audit functions and handle detailed accounting tasks.
  • Needs someone who can perform daily audits, handle monthly numbers, and generate quarterly call reports.
  • Proven working experience as a Controller or similar role.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience with creating financial statements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Banking industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Manage and mentor accounting staff to ensure performance meets organizational standards.
