What brought me to Hollstadt? Initially, it was the opportunity to consult in a role that matched my skills with an interesting client. While consulting for a year plus, I got to know the firm’s values, people and approach to business. Seeing how unique the Hollstadt values are, and how they are applied on a daily basis pushed me to learn more, and become even more tightly tied to the firm.

My favorite restaurant: Any supper club in Wisconsin.

Favorite vacation spot: Banff National Park, Winner, SD,  and Kauai, Hawaii. It’s a tie for different reasons, but primarily because of the natural beauty of all three spots.

Can’t live without: Nothing, there is not one thing I can’t live without. Many I would miss, but nothing that critical.

Favorite sports team: Any college and high school sports. I’m tired of professional sports.

I am inspired by… People who overcome. Big things, little things, people who persevere and make it through tough times. I never get tired of hearing someone’s story.

First Job: Mowing lawns in 5th grade. Janitor at a laundry mat in 9th grade.

Fun fact: I ran for Mayor of Mahtomedi when I was 19 years old, and I didn’t lose.

A tip for candidates: Be yourself, it’s what you’re best at and it’s what makes you unique.

A volunteer organization that I’m passionate about: The Human Fund… that’s a joke and a Seinfeld reference. Be the Match, Solid Ground, Wounded Warrior Project, and Habitat for Humanity.

The Hollstadt core value I most identify with: Do the right thing. My dad taught me this when I was a very young boy. In my father’s mind situational ethics were never acceptable. I wish I was half the man my dad was when it comes to always doing the right thing. He was the best at it, and I strive every day to meet his expectations.
